Shilo fell at the Southern Research and Development Outpost on October 7, 2023, 22nd of Tishrei 5784.
Shilo grew up in the settlement of Eli in Binyamin, educated on the love of the land and the State.
Son of Nirit and Dudi.
An amazing child, all good, whose smile never left him, radiating a great light to everyone.
With courage and a constant aspiration to succeed in everything in life.
All his life he was busy doing for others, was a guide in Bnei Akiva, volunteered with the “ONE FAMILY” NGO with bereaved families as a dedicated guide, volunteered with the “Lev Binyamin” NGO for four years, an organization that assists children with special needs, for whom he did everything. Everyone came to the shiva because Shilo was a true friend to them. And until his last days, he maintained contact like an older brother.
Shilo studied at the higher yeshiva in Eilat and enlisted in the Egoz unit. At the end of the course, he went to an officers’ course and was assigned as a platoon commander in the 51st Battalion of the Golani Brigade. He was a beloved and admired commander.
On Saturday morning, on Simchat Torah, a large squad of terrorists infiltrated the Southern Research and Development Outpost. Shilo charged first, stood at the entrance of the shelter, fought for about four hours.
Even when wounded, he continued to fight while bleeding, did not retreat, did not ask for replacement, and fought resolutely until the terrorists left.
In his fighting, together with his soldiers, he prevented the entry of terrorists and thus saved his soldiers, the outpost, and the nearby settlements.
“Simchat Torah,
Torah scrolls dancing in the holy sanctuary
The earth trembled, the ground cries out, heavens open
Ministering angels ascend and descend
Coming to receive you
And you are quiet, illuminated, wrapped in a Torah ark curtain,
A Torah scroll returning to the Holy Ark”
(Shilo’s mother, 30-day memorial)
