Nevo Shlomo, the son of Merav and Ronen Arad, was born on the 2nd of Tishrei, 5759 (September 22, 1998).
He grew up and was educated in Kibbutz Sa’ad, a boy who loved people, his surroundings, and nature. His face was always adorned with a smile. He aspired to excel in everything he did, and indeed, he succeeded.
Nevo grew into a tall young man. In his first year at college, when everyone was asked to introduce themselves, he said: “193 centimeters of sentiment.”
Nevo was a brilliant student, yet despite his many achievements, he remained humble and modest. He was wise, knowledgeable, and a people person. He enjoyed teaching himself new things and exploring the world around him. He loved life, cherished nature, and enjoyed music, parties, and traveling both in Israel and abroad.
His friends deeply admired and loved him, often referring to him as a “beacon of values.” They shared how he always knew the right thing to say, gave thoughtful advice, and had a unique gift for listening and empathy. They described him as someone who was surrounded by people, yet made each person feel as though he was fully present with them.
On October 7, 2023, Nevo was at the “Nova” festival near Kibbutz Re’im, celebrating with friends. He was tragically killed in a terrorist shooting while dancing and enjoying life, at the age of 25. He was laid to rest in the Kibbutz Sa’ad cemetery.
His family wrote: “Our beloved Nevoli is in our hearts forever. All of us—family and friends—are trying to take as many of your qualities as we can, to become even just a little better, and to continue your path with us.”
